Foreign Students Living Abroad - Graduate

The Selection of Foreign Students, living abroad, is made once a year, for admission in the next year's first semester. Documents must be sent to the Sociology Graduate Program accordingly with these documents:

Doctorate

Master

Foreign students, living abroad, may enroll the PEC-PG, CAPES or CNPq, Scholarship Programs to researchers originating from developing countries. For more information access the web sites:

Besides meeting all the requirements of the institution that provides the scholarships, applicants have got to email (in PDF format) the following documents to socioccp@usp.br and also send copies of them to the Graduate Program in Sociology at the address stated bellow:

After the Selection of Foreign Students, the Sociology Graduate will send the Letter of Acceptance for the aprouved.

Documents

 

Doctorate Degree

a. Undergraduate Certificate;
b. Undergraduate Transcripts;
c. Undergraduate completion work, if any;
d. Master Degree Certificate;
e. Master Degree Transcript;
f. Master Degree thesis;
g. Published Papers, if any;
h. Curriculum vitae;
i. Proficiency in Portuguese held by MEC, which will award the certificate CELPE-Bras (web site: http://portal.inep.gov.br/celpebras);
j. English language test or declaration of English language school, attesting the ability to read and understand scientific texts in English. Accepted Certificates:

-TOEFEL(Test of English as a Foreign Language): 213 points in the CBT(Computer-based-Test); or 550 points in the Paper-based-Test; or 80 points in the IBT(Internet-based-Test); or equivalent;

-IELTS (International English Language Test): 6 or more points; or equivalent;

-FCE (The Cambridge Exams – First Certificate in English): Grade C; or 60 points or higher; or equivalent, ex.: Proficiency;

k. Research project to be developed in the Doctorate Degree (Click here for Guidelines);
l. Two recommendation letters written by two professors from the Home University attended by the student;
m. Registration Form (Click here to download the Registration Form);
n. Residence Proof.

Master Degree

a. Undergraduate Certificate;
